Hagan Scholarship - This is a FANTASTIC scholarship!! The purpose of it is to help rural students graduate from college debt-free. Over six hundred scholarships may be awarded. It is renewable up to $6000 a semester - $28,000 over four years! Applicants are from rural America and there are 16 scholarships for Nebraska. Requirements include: A GPA of 3.75 or higher, must be attending a four year college, must work at least 240 hours prior to the start of college, must be Pell Grant eligible, and must not have been convicted of a felony. NAIFA - National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors Scholarships - Several of NAIFA's Local Affiliates across the state will be awarding a series of "Award of Excellence" scholarships of $1,000. Applications and supporting information must be received prior to February 28, 2023.
Candidates must: 1. Be a graduate of an accredited high school within the membership boundaries of NAIFA-Nebraska 2. FRS College Scholarship Program - The Foundation of Rural Service (FRS) offers over $100,000 in scholarships to rural high school seniors who express an interest in returning to a rural area. Visit http://www.frs.org for information regarding the scholarships offered. This scholarship requires a signature of sponsorship from Great Plains Communications. In order to meet the FRS postmark deadline, please send the completed application packet to Jacque Wilkins, Great Plains Communications, POB 500 Blair, NE 68008 by the February deadline. The required signature will be obtained and the completed packet will be forwarded to FRS prior to their deadline.
Gary Fischer Fine Arts Scholarship - NRCSA - Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association created the Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship in 2003 for those students who excel in fine arts and are planning to major in fine arts in college. Graduating seniors of NRCSA member schools are eligible to apply. Only one female and one male application per school will be accepted for the NRCSA Scholarships. Only one application per school will be accepted for the Gary Fisher Fine Arts Scholarship. Applications for all scholarships must be forwarded by the school district. All applications from a school are rejected if these rules are violated. The scholarship winners will be announced at the NRCSA Spring Conference March 17-18. Entries must be postmarked by deadline. NRCSA - Nebraska Rural Community Schools Association will be giving 16 $2,000 scholarships to graduating seniors from NRCSA member schools. There will be one scholarship winner selected from each of the NRCSA's six geographic districts for the scholarships. The remaning NRCSA scholarships and the Gary Fischer Fine Arts Scholarships will be selected at large.
2022 NRCSA Scholarships: Students planning to become teachers or other related education occupations, such as counselors or media specialists may apply for these scholarships. Five to seven $25k scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors from low-income, minority families who are graduation from a Nebraska high school. Students coming from homes with an annual household income of less than $65,000 qualify and are encouraged to apply. Smith Diversity Scholarships are intended to fund a college education at the institution of the recipient's choice and are not limited to Nebraska-based universities and colleges. Smith Diversity Scholars can renew their scholarships if they maintain a 3.4 GPA or higher each year for up to four years. Students who are interested in trade or vocational schools are also eligible to apply. Trade or vocational scholarship awards will be $12,500 per year, renewable for up to two years.
Sydney Loofe Memorial Scholarship - This $3000 scholarship is for students who have a 3.0 GPA or higher, demonstrate plans to attend college for sociology/criminal justice, social work or cyber safety, and are a student at a Nebraska school. The application can be found at setmefreeproject.net.
University of Nebraska at Kearney Davis Chambers Scholarship - Targeting students who have demonstrated knowledge and experience in cultural communities or backgrounds.
